August 30th 2005 — Hey man, I'm big in Japan
Good news, everyone! After years and years, heartache and break, and gallons of tears, Antilles have finally realeased their debut album THE CRUMBLING PROCESS!! Fans, rejoice!! The album, which is extremely beautiful and sexy, can be purchased by emailing us here at info@antilles.ca, or by contacting KC or Josh in person.
Contrary to all of our staff mathematicians' predictions, the album clocks in at 41 minutes and 18 seconds — unfortunately coming short of our previous goal of 45 minutes precisely. However, studies have shown that the disc is still just as catchy as ever — be sure to reserve your copy today!
Also — keep an eye on the NEWS and SHOWS pages for more information about our upcoming CD Release Party, which will feature all of our favourite bands, except those who charge more than $20 Canadian for an opening slot. The Tragically Hip, therefore, will sadly not be in attendance.
July 25th 2005 — Bring the Boys Back Home
On Tuesday, July 19th, Antilles brought the house down with the help of their friends FastJacket. Breifly renamed the Rockville-Antilles-project, the band played a slightly lengthened set containing mostly hard-rocking tunes. No pianos were available at the scene for comment. The group would like to thank everyone who showed up (and stayed after FastJacket, even if it was past their bedtimes), especially Laura, Joel, Emily & friends, and Ricki — all of whom were prepared to rock for a good cause. A few pictures of the mayhem will soon be seen in our ever-fashionalble Media section.
Slowly but surely, Antilles is winding up work on their debut album The Crumbling Process. Be sure to check out the updated album cover posted in the Media section. To promote the new disc, the band will be playing a number of higher profile gigs in the next few months (including a theatre gig which will be announced shortly), and potentially an Album Release Party at Central with a string section, dancers, skywriting; the whole deal — spare no expense, as our good friend John Hammond would say. Hopefully these particular festivities won't be ruined by a pack of ravenous dinonychus — cross your fingers.
Finally, keep an eye out for new merch — although Antilles loses an absolutely federal amount of money every time they create merch, the band feels the need to branch out creatively with stickers and baby-Ts. With the help of the group's talented artist friend Joel, Antilles should have stickers, a new drum-head design, and possibly t-shirts, posters, or decorative placemats within the next three-quarters of a year.
July 12th 2005 — The Return of the Space Cowboys
Fans, rejoice! After a long and painful break, Antilles is back in the saddle and ready to rustle up some hard-rockin' once again!
Our upcoming album, The Crumbling Process is mostly finished, and will be available for your pleasure very very soon — keep an eye on the Merch section for more details. To celebrate this fact, Antilles will be playing at Lucky Bar TUESDAY JULY 19th. We will be the second band on, after our good friends Fastjacket. Come on down about 9 o'clock Ian Standard Time, and be ready to have your socks rocked fully off — there will be no piano in sight at this gig, and all amplification will be turned up to 11!
April 28th 2005— I Have Climbed The Highest Mountain, I Have Run Through The Fields
After ten days, one mountain range, ten vegetarian sandwiches, two-hundred-and-four cigarettes, one broken amp, three nine-volt batteries, a TV appearance, five wolves and a carcass, three malls, one female fan, two pizzas, fifty-nine coffees, two collect-calls, one serious shock to the system, fifteen minutes in a batting cage, one-hundred-and-twenty-seven photographs, four movies, three books, two broken strings, twenty-three Star Wars references, one real bed, and two-thousand-nine-hundred kilometers, Antilles and Jay Dunphy have at last finished thier tour of the Far East. Be sure to catch their homecoming show on Saturday, April 30th at Spiral Cafe! Also, please keep an eye out for actual songs in the Media Section — these will come up any day now.
April 12th 2005— Wheat Kings and Pretty Things
Very shortly now we will begin our epic trek through the shoulder-high weeds of western Canada in our quest to bring the rockin' to the masses. The tour is a very exciting opportunity for all of our fans, as we will be showcasing many new tunes off of our rather prematurely announced next album, 10 More Songs About Movies. Also on our tour we will be running the promotional contest, "Win a sleepover with Antilles!" as we hope to have some places to stay out on the road. Please be sure to check our shows page to see if we will be coming to a bowling alley or bus depot near you – check back often, as you never know when we will add more dates, tour diaries, photos, contests – maybe even music clips!
Antilles will be performing 10PM Thursday, April 14th at Steamers Pub to promote their world tour — we expect everyone and their mother will show up for this one. This star-studded extravaganza will feature the ever-popular Jay Dunphy with his kickass band The Religion, and as an extra-special treat we promise the return of our world-famous light show and free t-shirt competition. Come and see the show that's so big it can be seen from orbit! The best Thursday night you'll have this month — guranteed!
30 March 2005 — Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
NEWSFLASH: The notorious Ides of March were in full swing at our last show at Steamer's Brew Pub in Victoria. Numerous local sources have confirmed that opening band Antilles were plagued by enough technical difficulties to actually choke a yak... That being said, their gig at Steamers went by without serious mishap, death, dismemberment, or loss of too much pride or property. Antilles would like to thank everyone who came out to support them, and hope that everyone will come out to see them on April 14th at Steamer's with Jay Dunphy and the Religion. For that show, Antilles promises a return to the smooth, well produced spectacle that is their hallmark.
16 March 2005 — Beware The Ides of March
Remember when our close personal friend Bill Shakespeare once told us to watch our backs in the middle of March? Well, if you've been taking his advice and staying home where it's safe and warm — quit worrying and come join us downtown this Wednesday, March 23rd at Steamer's for a rocking-ass show! Antilles will be second out of the gate — also appearing will be Blue Mundae, One Less Felon, and The Paper Cranes. That's a four (4) band extravaganza for only five ($5) dollars! The show starts at 9:45. What are you waiting for? Get your ass out there and represent!
IN OTHER NEWS: Ticketmaster getting you down? Couldn't get U2 tickets? Well – there's a better tour coming to town! That's right, Antilles and Jay Dunphy will be touring in a western-Canadian city within three-hundred kilometers of you this April! The first gig of this star-studded extravaganza will be on April 14th, also at Steamer's, with Jay Dunphy and the Religion. Please check out the Shows page for more info — We hope to see both of you there!
Furthermore, a select batch of pictures from our Febuary 20th gig at Steamers with Supernova is now up on the media page.
20 Feb 2005 — The Gift of Rock - Freely Given, Accepted for $5
February 19th's hard-rockin' birthday gig at Lucky Bar was a screaming success, thanks to our many raving fans, corporate sponsors, and trippy light show. Remember, a rock and roll show is the best gift anyone can receive for their birthday — Antilles is always available for special functions, including (but not limited to) children's parties, anniversaries, ship launchings, book signings, and dog shows.
Very special thanks to Supernova (not The Supernovas) for coming out to play — they made a solid fashion statement and rocked the house. Thanks goes as well to Lucky Bar, who have the best sound in the business and always make shows a pleasure on the ear-drums. Finally, thanks to our muse and close personal friend Madison for selling the ever-popular Antilles T-shirts at the merch table!
Our next schedualed gig is April 14th's tour kick-off at the local bohemian hangout, Steamer's pub — we will be performing with teen heartthrob Jason Dunphy. As always, keep an eye on our shows page for upcoming tour dates.
2 Feb 2005 — The verdict is rock
Thanks to everyone who came out to the benefit showcase at Steamers on the 28th of January. It felt great to unveil our new lineup and new look to all of you gorgeous fans. Much love and affection to Teri and Jane and PJ for working for us. Your cheques are in the mail. All the bands were great and even if we didn't actually cure cancer that night, the members of Antilles are proud to bare our chests in the name of a good cause any time. Pictures will be up on the Media page real soon now...
Speaking of chests, Antilles now have T-Shirts which you can buy from us with your money! Please check out our new Merchandise page and support a great cause!
Our next show is a birthday bash for our friends Crystal and Callie. Everyone is invited out to Lucky Bar on Saturday, February 19th. This is an early one folks, doors open at 8pm and music should start soon after.
Goodnight, Matilda

10 Jan 2005
Hello to all Antilles fans, allies, heroes, villains and enemies.
Thanks for visiting antilles.ca, our new home on the web. Keep checking here for news on upcoming shows, tours, news, and music.
First off we'd like to send special thanks Jeremy Stashewsky for setting up the site in and around his busy schedule of moving and working.
Antilles has recently had to say good-bye to our drummer and friend James Clarke. He's decided to move on to pursue a career in professional snowboarding while moonlighting as a bongo-djembe/double-kick drum phenomenon. We wish him – and his little dog Schnapsy – well.
To fill the gaping wound this has left in our hearts, we have found a new rhythm master named Keagan. He will be making his debut with us on January 28th at Steamers Pub. This is a benefit for cancer, so you should only come if you care about beating cancer. If you don't care about beating cancer, you're a heartless bastard – but you should come anyway. We are playing with Nicola Linde, Sharp as Allie and Zapnin Black. These are Josh's favourite bands; hand-picked by him and a committee of overweight music business stooges. Cover is 6 bling and the show starts at nine (9) of the pm. Be sure to check our >Shows page< often for upcoming gigs!
Upcoming news: Having recently solved our computer issues (Special thanks to Bill Hingley a.k.a. dad for the donation.), we are hard at work on The Crumbling Process, our forthcoming album. This is a collection of songs and poetry that we've written and performed over our two years as a band, and we're very excited to see if anyone hates it.
We are also scheduling a tour with Jay Dunphy in April, which will take us as far east as Edmonton. More to come on that later.
So please check out the site and drop us a line at band@antilles.ca.
